C2807 Code: Meaning, Causes, and Symptoms | OBD2 Codes

C2807 – Trailer Brake Output Circuit Short To Ground

C2807 Possible Symptoms

Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light ON,Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

C2807 Possible Causes

Faulty Trailer Brake Control (TBC) Module,Trailer Brake Control (TBC) Module harness is open or shorted,Trailer Brake Control (TBC) Module circuit poor electrical connection

C2807 Description

The braking energy that is provided to the trailer is varied with a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal along the circuit that switches between 0 volt and battery voltage, the higher the duty cycle the more braking power available. The Trailer Brake Control (TBC) Module varies the PWM signal based on various inputs such as the brake pressure transducer, TBC module manual slider switch and the TBC module gain buttons. With the vehicle stationary and with the manual slider switch fully to the left with a gain of 10, there should be greater than 10-12 volts supplied to pin 3 of the 7-pin trailer tow connector. Every 4 seconds the TBC module sends a voltage pulse along circuit CAT19 (BU) to pin 3 of the 7-pin trailer tow connector to determine whether or not a trailer is connected.

C279A Possible Causes

Faulty Brake Pressure Transducer,Brake Pressure Transducer harness is open or shorted,Brake Pressure Transducer circuit poor electrical connection,Faulty Trailer Brake Control (TBC) Module

C279A Description

The Brake Pressure Transducer is attached to the brake master cylinder and is hardwired to the Trailer Brake Control (TBC) Module. The transducer and the master cylinder are installed new as an assembly. The TBC module supplies voltage to the transducer and ground along circuits. The voltage returned from the transducer and is used by the TBC module to determine current brake pressure. Trailer Brake Control (TBC) Module sets the OBDII code when the Brake Pressure Transducer is not to factory specifications.

C2777 Code: Meaning, Causes, and Symptoms | OBD2 Codes

C2777 – Sensor Cluster Bus Failure

C2777 Possible Symptoms

Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light ON,Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

C2777 Possible Causes

Faulty Stability Control Sensor Cluster,Stability Control Sensor Cluster harness is open or shorted,Stability Control Sensor Cluster circuit poor electrical connection

C2777 Description

The yaw rate sensor, roll rate sensor, lateral accelerometer and longitudinal accelerometer are contained in one module called the stability control sensor cluster. The sensor cluster measures the vehicle acceleration, roll rate and yaw rate, then sends the signal through a secondary, dedicated controller area network (CAN2) bus to the ABS module. The ABS module compares the information from the sensor cluster to information it receives from other sensors (brake pedal input or steering wheel rotation sensor) to determine how valid the information is and to determine if a roll-over event is about to occur. The ABS module provides power to the sensor cluster and ground. The sensor cluster and the ABS module communicate. An open circuit or a short to power or ground on any one of these 4 circuits will cause the ABS module to set a DTC. Also, if the sensor cluster is not mounted in the correct position, with the electrical connector facing the passenger seat, the ABS module will also set DTCs.
