C1420 – Acceleration Sensor Malfunction

 

C1420 Possible Symptoms

 

Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light ON,Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

 

C1420 Possible Causes

 

Faulty Yaw Rate Sensor (Built-In Acceleration Sensor),Yaw Rate Sensor harness is open or shorted,Yaw Rate Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

 

C1420 Description

 

The Skid Control ECU receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor via the CAN communication system. The yaw rate sensor has a built-in acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle’s condition using 2 circuits. The Skid Control ECU monitors the Acceleration Sensor. The Skid Control ECU sets the OBDII code when the Acceleration Sensor is not to factory specifications.
