The DTC P1656 Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) Actuator Solenoid Control Circuit diagnostic monitors the operation of the CMP actuator system. The CMP actuator system enables the Powertrain control Module (PCM) to change the camshaft timing when the engine is running.
