B101D GMC Description

The internal fault detection is handled inside the control module. The symptom byte listed in the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Descriptor is for engineering reference only. No external circuit diagnosis is involved. If DTC B101D is set as history or current in the Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) and there are Air Bag or Pretensioner DTCs, it is important to repair the deployment loop issue first prior to replacing K36 SDM. Failure to repair the Air Bag or Pretensioner wiring concern first may cause B101D to reset in the replacement SDM. This DTC may be stored as a history DTC without affecting the operation of the control module.
