B1767 KIA Description

This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set when Passenger side BodySense Sensor Mat is fault by water. If the seat is occupied, Body Sense Sensor detects how passenger weighs and send signal to Airbag Control Unit (ACU) via Controller Area Network (CAN). ACU recognizes the signal as 3 (three) different classifications; that is, 0 (Empty), 1 (Small), 2 (Large). With these signal, ACU determines whether it needs to deploy PAB (Passenger Airbag) or not.
